Dating back to its founding in 1892, turfgrass research has been a part of URI with some of the earliest turf fertilizer trials in North America. Since the 1930's, the URI Turfgrass Management Program has offered generations of students the opportunity to learn the art and science of amenity turfgass management. Housed in the Department of Plant Sciences and Entomology, we provide educational resources, extension services and research to the people and industry of Rhode Island.
